Digital DJ Tips reader Stefan has a problem that can occur with lots of DJ controllers. He writes: “I have the Numark Mixtrack Pro and I do a weekly live mix on Mixify and I want to be able to speak via a microphone which is plugged into my Mixtrack Pro. I am having problems with the microphone input on my Mixtrack Pro, the microphone is not getting picked up by Traktor. What can I do?”
Digital DJ Tips says:
- First, make sure your mic works before you start DJing. Second, ensure your connecting the mic to the mic input not the headphone input. Lastly, connect speakers to the back of the DJ controller and make sure your properly setup in your DJ software. If your using Serato software, there's no setup involved.

- How do you record the mic in on serato? Posted by 3 months ago. How do you record the mic in on serato? I brought my own starter decks back around May 2019, just numark mixtrack pro 3 running serato. When I lived with my parents and worked a full time 9-5 I would practice for a couple of hours most evenings after work.
The microphone on the Mixtrack Pro is not fed to your computer or your DJ software at all. It’s simply routed straight to the outputs at the back of the unit, and so while the mic sound does comes out of your speakers, it won’t be present on your broadcast feed, as you’ve found out.

How To Record Mic On Mixtrack Pro 2 Traktor Pro
The easiest way to get around this would be to plug the output of your Mixtrack Pro into another laptop as an input, and broadcast from that. It is sometimes possible to feed the output of your DJ controller back into the same laptop in this way to save you using two, but it’s not simple to do.
Open Traktor Pro 2, and open the Settings by selecting the gear icon. Click Import at the bottom of the Settings window. Direct the computer to the location of “Numark MixTrack Pro II Traktor Pro Map.tsi” and click Open. Leave all of the suggested categories checked to ensure best integration with the MixTrack Pro II. - About a month ago I bought the Numark Mixtrack Pro 2 (which comes with Serato DJ Intro) to start off a possible DJ career. A lot of people have told me that it’s great to start making mixtracks. The problem I have is that I cannot find a way of recording what I do, without paying for the full version of Serato DJ and other expensive stuff. What is the cheapest way possible for me to record my mixes? For the record, my equipment is:
– Numark Mixtrack Pro 2
– Serato DJ Intro
– QTX Sound speakers
– RCA to RCA lead
– RCA to 3.5mm jack leadThanks!A cheap way would simply to be to feed the audio out from the numark through a splitter and then send one signal into the mic input on your (or another) pc. You could then use Audacity to record the input signal and then you would have a recorded copy of your mixes. However, this would not be fantastic quality as you are relying on your laptop’s internal sound card to go from analogue to digital again before you can record it – actually buying the full version of Serato DJ (which you will probably end up doing anyway for other features) would be much higher quality and a lot easier to set up.Another solution would be if your laptop’s internal sound card supports a “What-u-hear” (also known as various other names) function. My laptop has this and it basically means that any audio you send to the soundcard it presents back to the pc as an input device – you could then record this using audacity at much higher quality as the signal does not have to converted from digital to analogue and then analogue to digital before you can record it.Hope this helps,Traktor pro 2 software. bob6397On Windows, right click on the little “speaker” icon bottom right. Select “Recording Devices” It should appear in that list if your laptop has that function (If you aren’t sire just post the names of all the different things and I will translate it 😉 ). If it does, then download Audacity (google it), then set the audio device up along the top and then hit record. 🙂 - Posts
